Meet the Man Behind the Bug

Eric Brace

Eric Brace is the man behind The Literacy Bug, as well as its predecessor, Wittgenstein on Learning

Originally from Los Angeles, Eric has lived and worked in Sydney, Australia since 2000. Eric Brace has been involved in the education sector since 1998, when he started out as a support teacher in an alternative high school in San Diego, California. He graduated from the nearby University of California, San Diego and soon moved to Australia to take up Education Studies at the University of New South Wales.

In Australia, Eric has worked as a literacy and learning support teacher for a diverse range of students, including English as a Second Language (ESL) students. He has collaborated with speech pathologists and teachers to provide learning support for children and youth with language and literacy difficulties. He has also spent the past decade as a teacher educator, particularly in helping trainee teachers understand the unique learning needs of students from refugee backgrounds. He has also had the privilege  of working closely with Indigenous communities in remote parts of the Northern Territory and South Australia.

Please welcome to The Literacy Bug, which is one of Eric’s side projects that allows him to explore the many intricacies of written and spoken language. Do not hesitate to drop him an email (ebrace@theliteracybug.com) if you have a question, an observation or a recommendation. Or connect with him on Linkedin.
